The Bright and Colourful Works of Madeleine Lemire

Born in Oka, Quebec, Madeleine Lemire currently lives and works in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. In Paris, she studied at the Ecole du Louvre; in Montreal, she studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, at the Sadye Bronfman Center and at the Academy of Arts where she later taught drawing. She has several solo exhibitions in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Calgary, and Victoria…and in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has also participated in group exhibitions in Canada, France, the United States and Mexico. Her works are found in collections all over the world.

Madeleine Lemire was elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1996. She is represented by various galleries in Canada, notably by Galerie Michel-Ange in Montreal, by Galerie Perreault in Quebec, by Galerie Iris in Baie-Saint-Paul, by La Galerie Perkins in Danville, QC, by Liss Gallery in Toronto and by the Stephen Lowe Gallery in Calgary. In Mexico, she is represented by the Galeria Noel Cayetano in Oaxaca and San Miguel de Allende.
