Femininity in its natural state is the evocative name of my artistic approach. As a female artist born in the Laurentians, my passion for the arts has driven me since childhood. In 1997, I obtained a bachelor's degree in teaching visual arts, thus marking the anchoring of my passion in my field of training. However, it was not until 2003 that my artistic journey truly began, motivated by two significant events in my life: the birth of my daughter and the death of my mother. My creative process is deeply rooted in my sensitivity, which was shaped by a difficult childhood with an unhealthy father. My works do not focus on the demands of facial proportions, but rather aim to arouse deep emotion in those who contemplate them. My goal is to convey authentic and powerful emotions, to explore the recesses of the human soul. Each piece I create is a reflection of my intimate exploration as a female artist who seeks the most authentic and natural form to discover. My favorite technique is acrylic, which I apply with a spatula to create impastos and splashes of color that make my style unique. It is also for this reason that my facial proportions do not conform to realistic proportions. Each stroke of the spatula is an expression of my inner experience, an attempt to capture and communicate deep feelings. My artistic approach focuses on the representation of women through a personal vision. It consists of 5 distinct series, each with its own style and purpose, with the aim of capturing the essence of women and their strength The first series, Colored, is filled with bright colors and textures. The paintings feature faces, expressing the social pressure on women to meet ephemeral beauty standards. My intention is to challenge these demands and emphasize that true beauty goes beyond appearances. The second series, Black and White, represents the movement of life with its ups and downs, while the shades of gray symbolize balance. This series presents faces and dresses, my favorite images, to express the emotion and complexity of life. The third series of my artistic approach, entitled "Wood and Nature", celebrates the harmonious relationship between women and nature by highlighting warm colors, mainly browns. In this series, I incorporate driftwood that evokes the shape of a woman's body, reinforcing the organic connection between nature and femininity. The paintings in the "Wood and Nature" series offer a three-dimensional effect thanks to the use of driftwood, which transforms into real pictorial sculptures. These natural elements add additional texture and depth to the paintings, creating a unique visual experience. The fourth series of my artistic approach, entitled "Gold", explores the richness of being healthy and in harmony with oneself. Gold leaf, used in a delicate and artistic way, highlights the beauty and positive energy that emerges when we are in harmony with ourselves. It represents inner wealth, self-esteem and self-confidence. The "Gold" series is a celebration of the inner beauty and light that emanates from each woman when her entire being is in balance. The paintings in this series captivate attention and inspire to embrace our intrinsic value and shine with our own unique brilliance. Finally, the "Fossilized Femininity" series pushes the boundaries of art with abstract forms and bold techniques. Each painting is an invitation to explore where emotion pours freely onto the canvas, creating unique and evocative works. Through these five series, "Femininity in its natural state" invites you to discover the strength, beauty and diversity that resides in each woman. Immerse yourself in this artistic universe that celebrates femininity in all its forms and let yourself be transported by the emotion and poetry that inhabit it.
